New Smyrna Beach

Lessons & camps

Small groups, soft-tops, and a safety talk before anyone touches the water. The Atlantic does the rest.

An instructor stands knee-deep in the Atlantic beside a student lying on a white soft-top, one coiled leash from the ankle cuff to the tail plug.

Who it's for

Adults and teens who can swim. First time, or rusty after a few years away.

What to expect

An hour and a half on a lifeguarded Atlantic beach. You get a whole soft-top, a leash, and a coach in the whitewater with you. Most people pop up once the waves are small and friendly.

Ages 7 to 12 who are comfortable in the ocean. A parent stays on the sand.

What to expect

Five mornings. Beach games, paddling practice, and time in the whitewater on soft-tops. We stop when the kids are tired. Nobody is pushed past a smile.

Who it's for

Safety, said out loud

  • Lessons meet on a lifeguarded beach. We follow the flags.
  • The first ten minutes are a rip-current talk. Then the leash goes on. Then the water.
  • If the Atlantic is too big or too flat, we move to the lagoon or pick another morning.
  • Kids' camp stays in the whitewater. Parents stay where they can see the group.
